As the development of Artificial Intelligence barrels forward at dizzying speed, this morning’s service looks at the implications for mere mortals who plod along with only our lowly ordinary intelligence. AI is astoundingly (often scarily) good but there are essential human qualities, like our ability to love, where we come out on top. Could we ever make a machine capable of sensate qualities like love?
