Friday, Oct. 17, 2025  The Shinolas $25     $25 ($27.99 with service fee)

Formed in 2009, Hartford area musical luminaries Jim Chapdelaine (guitars), Lorne Entress (drums), Paul Kochanski (bass), Jim Henry (guitar) and Ed Iarusso (pedal steel), bring a wealth of experience and know-how to their Roots/Americana band The Shinolas. The Shinolas “draw their material from the Great American Songbook, an eclectic canon of rock and roll, blues, folk and vintage country music that spans decades. It’s not uncommon to hear the band jamming to songs by Merle Haggard, Ryan Adams, Johnny Cash and Neil young.” (Hartford Courant)

Jim and Lorne came up with the idea of a local off-night residency in the Hartford area–a musical project close to home that would provide a chance to tap into their mutual love for American roots music. With Ed and Paul on board the band gelled quickly, winning the Best Country Band of 2009 in the Hartford Advocate. (although pure Country is just a slice of what they do.)

Friday, Nov. 21, 2025 Slambovian Circus of Dreams Trio  $30    $30.00 ($33.29 with service fee)

“A breath of fresh air in a sometimes stagnant world – especially as a live act – with varied eclectic influences and great musicianship. Plus moustaches, hats and stage presence gild their Interesting and thought-provoking lyrics for the curious adult mind.”
Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull

“They take the stage by storm!” – NY Times
“Longo is an awesome songwriter” – Garth Hudson, The Band

Voted “Best Band” by upstate NY’s Chronogram Magazine for their rootsy, rockin’ psychedelia, the Slambovians’ deep connection with audiences and exciting live shows are legendary. Masterfully channeling influences of Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band, Syd Barrett, and more, the Slambovians’ musicianship and critically acclaimed songwriting stand on their own.

Joziah Longo (resident shaman of Slambovia), leads with vocals described as “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic.” Longtime bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and guitarist/mandolin wizard Sharkey McEwen bring their magic to the Slambovian brew. Woodstock-tinged psychedelia hints at southern rock and British folk combined with solid songwriting – a slice of Americana Pie that is irresistible!

Friday, Dec. 19, 2025     Rani Arbo & daisy mahem $25    $25 ($27.99 with service fee)

Harmony, rhythm, indelible songs – these are the hallmarks of Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem, the New England based folk quartet now in its 17th year. From the Newport Folk Festival to the California World Music Festival and beyond, this band’s steadfast brew of wit, camaraderie, and musicality leaves audiences everywhere humming and hopeful, spirits renewed.

RAdm walking

Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem are Rani Arbo (fiddle, guitar), Andrew Kinsey (bass, banjo, ukulele), Anand Nayak (electric and acoustic guitars) and Scott Kessel (percussion). At the helm, Arbo is “blessed with an unmistakable voice, both light and sultry, with a hint of tremolo and smoke” (Acoustic Guitar). With Kinsey and Nayak’s vibrant baritones and Kessel’s resonant bass, the band’s signature lockstep harmonies can shake the rafters or hush the room. Arbo’s fiddle is sweet and sinewy, while Nayak’s guitar stretches across genre lines. Kinsey’s old- time bass anchors the deep groove of Kessel’s homemade percussion kit — a truly funky collection of cardboard boxes, tin cans, caulk tubes, packing-tape tambourines, bottle-cap rattles, Mongolian jaw harps, and a vinyl suitcase.

In the lineage of string bands who blur the boundaries of American roots music, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem have always been standard-bearers, with a particular knack for pairing words and music. From bluegrass barnstormers to sultry swing, old-time gospel to bluesy folk-rock, they consistently turn in lush arrangements with “stylish, unexpected choices” (Acoustic Guitar). Original songs fit seamlessly aside artful re-workings of Georgia Sea Islands music, Hank Williams, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen — just a few of the many places this band is willing to go.

Writes Maverick Magazine, “How refreshing to hear something that sounds as if it has come from people who are genuinely original thinkers. As soon as Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem strike up, you realize this is a band that is unpredictable and impossible to pigeonhole. But, what a thoroughly mellifluous melange — sophisticated, soulful and always handled with care and a lightness of touch that is part folk/jazz/country, part blues/old time, and all good. There is a togetherness that flows right through the heart of the performance. It never gets too clever and always remains understated and classy.”

Friday, Jan. 16, 2026   Tracy Grammer & Jim Henry  $25

PictureTRACY GRAMMER singer, writer, actor, director, multi-instrumentalist, cat-whisperer, and fearless navigator of the heart

“Tracy is a brilliant artist… Her voice is distinctive and beautiful, as is her mastery over the instruments she plays.”   – JOAN BAEZ

“Tracy Grammer is among the finest singers and musicians anywhere in folkdom.” – THE BOSTON GLOBE

TRACY GRAMMER is one of contemporary folk music’s most beloved artists. Renowned for her pure, emotive vocals, perfectly intoned violin, and guitar playing that is by turns percussive and delicate, Grammer is also a gifted storyteller whose incantations add a rare mixture of vulnerability, intimacy, and hard-won insight to her performances. As one fan puts it, “With Tracy, it’s never just about the music; it’s a soul journey.”

And what a journey it has been. Grammer rose to acclaim as half of the “postmodern, mythic American folk” duo, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer. From 1998-2001, the duo released three internationally celebrated, chart-topping albums featuring Carter’s mytho-poetic Americana songcraft and in 2002, toured with Joan Baez, both as featured artists and Baez’s band mates. Called “the new voice of modern folk music,” the duo was clearly in its ascendancy when in July 2002, Carter suffered a fatal heart attack mid-tour. He was 49; Grammer, 34.

Determined to honor the duo’s trajectory and bring Carter’s songs and those of other favorite writers to broader audiences, Grammer kept to the road, releasing several solo and archival recordings, including 2012’s LITTLE BLUE EGG (Red House Records), the #1 most-played album on Folk Radio in 2012with that year’s #1 most-played song. She also heads the Dave Carter Legacy Project and administers the publishing for Carter’s songs, as well as her own.In 2018 Grammer released LOW TIDE, her first album of original songs. Says Grammer, “Even though I am a practiced writer, I didn’t see myself a songwriter until writing songs became the only way to resolve the pains and unanswered questions of my life. LOW TIDE is an album of revelations, confessions, and ultimately, healing. I am proud of the writing and utterly thrilled with the sounds.” Co-produced with long-time musical collaborator Jim HenryLOW TIDE was released January 19, 2018 on Grammer’s own label, Tracy Grammer Music, and was the #9 most-played album on folk radio for the year.

Friday, Feb. 20, 2026  Seat of Our Pants  $25

Affectionately known as SOOP, Seat Of Our Pants has ascended to the forefront of Connecticut’s acoustic music scene with award winning, heartfelt, and clever songs that put a smile on your face, a tear in your eye, and get you thinking about the world around you. From sellout shows at The Buttonwood Tree, to the grand stage at Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den, to Podunk Bluegrass Festival, and many of the premiere listening rooms around the state, SOOP never disappoints their audiences. The unique mix of instruments, and impeccable intricate harmonies, distinguish Connecticut’s one-of-a-kind SOOP. Their cornucopia of folk instruments and rock-infused songwriting are a contagiously fun experience.

Songs of Rabble & Roots, released December 2018, their first of all-original tunes, is a carefully crafted compilation, recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Ira Sakolsky at Riverway Recording Studio. The songs range from the comical “Fiddler’s Wife, to the touching “Wood River Valley”, a proud father’s memories of time spent with his son. ”Seat Of Our Pants is a great blend of musicianship and positive messages in their lyrics”, says Bruce John of Bread Box Folk Theater. While their latest release highlights their songwriting finesse, both of their prior albums, Fresh Hot SOOP (2014) and Higher Ground (2016), also include cover songs, which have become a beloved part of their live shows. Audiences are captivated by the band’s live synergy, as well as their unforgettable renditions of songs like “Eleanor Rigby” and “Black Magic Woman”.

The first time the band members jammed together, the synergy was so palpable that they decided to go full steam ahead as a group. With only bare-bone rehearsals under their belt, they made their first audiences swoon with a chemistry that only Mother Nature can infuse. Simply put, their performances are “magical” – Pamm Summers, Eastern CT Center for History, Art and Performance. The magic is onstage as well as in their writing. “So I guess its up to me to live life a different way. First of all I’ll make a list of all the rules I’ll break today” goes the song “Don’t Break The Rules”, poking fun of their own OCD. Graduating from the early days of winging it, the band carefully arranges each new song and performance, a virtue which creates that “magic” for the audience.

Friday, March 20, 2026  In Trine  $25

IN TRINE is a musical collaboration between Kate Callahan, Cynthia Wolcott, and Michelle Begley. Kate served as the 16th CT State Troubadour and is one of the most awarded singer/songwriters in Connecticut. Cynthia enjoys doing many different things in her life; one of her absolute favorites is singing with these two women. Michelle sings regularly with a variety of small and large choral groups and is blissed out when singing with her kids and friends. After ten years of singing under various names, the trio has arrived at their forever name: an astrological reference to harmony and alignment. Michelle, Cynthia and Kate think of themselves as imperfectly optimistic and embrace their inner charm. IN TRINE released their 1st album (and Kate’s 5th) in the summer of 2022. The album, titled “Lay It Down” features Stephen Murphy’s production and instrumental work, Begley and Wolcott’s vocal arrangements, along with jazz percussionist Ed Fast. The album started as a pandemic passion project between Callahan and Murphy and is a welcome reprieve for anyone who needs a deep breath.
